WINCHELSEA'S coach David Mensch has identified midfield depth as an area the club needs to strengthen during summer.

The Blues' brilliant finals run came to an end at the hands of East Geelong on Sunday but Mensch said his playing group was dedicated to bouncing back.

"Everyone's signed on for two years - no one's going anywhere," Mensch said.

"We're obviously a couple of players down (so) we know what we need and we'll be going all out to get them.

"The other clubs will probably be looking over their shoulder because Winch are coming."

Winchelsea went from winless and bottom of the ladder in 2012 to matching it with the top sides just twelve months later.

Mensch said his young side had gained valuable experience and confidence from playing in two finals and knew what was needed to succeed in the future.

"We're rapt with where we finished but we can't just be happy with that," he said.

"We've got to improve on that by five to ten per cent."

Mensch said he was disappointed his side's successful season had ended but he said he was immensely proud of how far the club had come in such a short period of time and equally excited about what the future held.

"(I'm) really proud of the boys for their effort and to their credit, they didn't stop trying all day," he said.

"And the support from the community and the town has been great too.

"I think the boys really relished it and loved it.

"And I think now they want more."
