BELL Post Hill coach Matt Armstrong knows his side must improve if it wants to cause a boilover against favourites Werribee Centrals in the GDFL grand final on Saturday.
Undefeated Centrals have been the dominant team in the competition this year, but only had a narrow two-goal win in the second semi final.
It has given Armstrong hope his girls have what it takes to lift the premiership cup.
"They have been the form team all year," Armstrong said.
"They have every right to be confident and it's up to us to knock them off.
"We are the chasers at the moment. I think we took some confidence out of the last time we met.
"The previous two games they had beaten us easily, but it shows at our best we can match it with them."
The Panthers have always fallen just short of the ultimate success, playing a number of finals but losing to former league powerhouse Winchelsea and current stars Centrals.
"We have taken the extra step this year. We have played in a few finals before but we are in the final game now," he said.
"They have been in finals the last four or five years.
Armstrong said Werribee's defence loomed as a potential matchwinner and it would be up to his attacking end to cause them trouble.
"I think their strength is their defence. They (Noni McClure and Brigitte Ardossi) play very well as a unit," he said.
"They know what each other is going to do. Defensively they are very good.
"I think we just have to move them around a lot. If we keep them moving and not let them get settled then the spaces will open up and we can work our way through it."
Armstrong said both teams needed to be clean with their passing.
"Who controls the ball better will come away with it. Pressure can cause mistakes in big games," he said.
