ANDREW Button will not continue as Daylesford's senior coach in 2014.
The 41-year-old has stood down after three years in the position and a total of six playing with the Central Highlands Football League club.
He leaves the helm after taking the Bulldogs to a grand final in his first season as coach in 2011, a premiership in 2012 and a semi final exit this year.
Button told The Courier he had not given the role his best during 2013 and that he could not commit fully to it next year.
He hopes to remain involved with the club, with his son Tom keen to continue on with the juniors, and hasn't ruled out a few games in the reserves.
Daylesford president John Goullet said Button had been a "highly respected servant" of the club.
"He's been an inspiration, in fact, and a true example. He's set a great tone at the club and the players held him in the highest regard," Goullet said.
"It's an extremely memorable period for the club."
Clunes and grand finalists Buninyong are fresh on the hunt for new coaches after Justin Johns and Joe Gilbert stepped down from the respective helms following the season.
