LARA centre half-forward Mitchell Day will miss two matches after pleading guilty at the AFL Barwon tribunal to charging.

Day was reported during the first quarter of the GFL match against St Mary’s on Saturday for charging opposition player Ryan Normington.

The tribunal hearing, chaired by Phil Swindells on Monday night, found the action was negligent and suspended Day for two games.

He will be unavailable for Lara’s encounters against St Albans and Grovedale.

It is Day’s second ban for charging, after accepting a one-match set penalty for a similar report in 2011.

Meanwhile, North Shore colt Riley Skene copped a two-match ban for engaging in rough conduct against his Anakie opponent in which the circumstances were deemed unreasonable.

Skene pleaded not guilty to the charge, which came after he tried to get around a shepherd.

However, the tribunal upheld the report and suspended the teenager for two matches.

Lara and North Shore have confirmed they would not be appealing the respective penalties.

The tribunal will not sit on Wednesday after the match review panel found no cases to answer from the weekend’s action.
