COLAC has sensationally ended Newtown & Chilwell’s premiership aspirations with a runaway 42-point win in today’s elimination final at West Oval.
The Tigers fought back from an early deficit and set up the win with an irresistible eight-goal second quarter with the aid of a breeze.
It ends a season of promise for the Eagles, who slipped from premiership favourite to finals failure in only a matter of weeks.
Jake Carmody put the icing on the cake with a one-handed mark one-out in the goal square late in the match to put the Tigers more than six goals clear.
Final score: Colac 19.12 (126) to Newtown & Chilwell 12.12 (84).
Colac will face St Mary’s in next week’s knockout semi final.

But they methodically chipped away at the deficit, kicking five goals to one in the third quarter and continued that momentum in a brilliant final term, kicking seven goals to one, to run all over the Eagles.
They will face Bell Post Hill in next week’s preliminary final.
Final score: Inverleigh 16.8 (104) to 12.15 (87).
