Geelong Advertiser | YOUNG gun Jordan Duncan faces the prospect of sitting out of footy for a year after being embroiled in a clearance dispute between South Barwon and St Mary’s.
The Swans have held their ground and are refusing to release the talented forward from the final year of his contract at the club.
St Mary’s has since lodged a last-ditch appeal with AFL Victoria to have Duncan cleared after its initial appeal was dismissed by a regional tribunal last week.
That AFL Victoria hearing is likely to be early next week in Melbourne.
Saints coach Bryce Vincent said if Duncan was not cleared to St Mary’s, the youngster would not play at all this season.
“He did sign a contract (at South Barwon), no one is disputing that,” Vincent said.
