NCFLWeekly Times | THE North Central league is posing a problem for tipsters. Almost halfway through the season, only one win separates first from fifth in the seven-team competition.

After being winless after three rounds, Wycheproof-Narraport has rebounded with four consecutive victories to sit fifth.

Wycheproof-Narraport co-coach Boe Bish said his group had taken confidence out of the past month.

“Obviously Boort’s a long way off the pack ... but as for the rest of competition you’re not really surprised by any result,” Bish said.

He said the Demons would press for a place in the top four after missing finals last season.

In a sign of times, Wycheproof-Narraport swept past top side St Arnaud, 17.19 (121) to 11.13 (79), at home on Saturday, and the week previous defeated reigning premier Wedderburn by 20 points.

The Demons’ finals aspirations will be aided by a friendly fixture, playing Boort, currently winless this season, three times.
