Weekly Times |A RESOLUTION to a case of alleged racism by an umpire toward a player is expected to be reached this week, according to Hume league president Merv Wegener.
An investigation was launched last week following a complaint about an alleged incident that occurred on July 25 during a match between Murray Magpies and Coreen-Daysdale Hopefield-Buraja.
Wegener had forecast the matter would be resolved earlier this week, but it has been delayed due to personal reasons for the player involved.
Wegener said the inquiry had heard the umpire’s version of events, but would not comment on whether the accusation was denied due to a confidentiality policy on ongoing investigations.
