Weekly Times | AT LEAST one Ovens and Murray league football fan saw the funny side of a scorebook error at the football on Sunday.
A closer inspection of the North Albury side, which played Yarrawonga in the elimination final on Sunday, showed the players’ ages, height and weight statistics had been mixed up. Captain Dan Leslie, for example, was listed as 188-years-old, 90cm tall and 32 kilos.
The Hoppers, coached by Jason Akermanis, exited the league’s finals race with a 59-point loss to the Pigeons.
Twitter user Tim Petts (@timpetts) on Monday tweeted a photo of the mistake.
“The problem with the hoppers (sic) is obvious. Way too old, short and light. @omfnl #fb,” he said.
