Sunraysia FCWeekly Times | THE president of the club former AFL player Nick Stevens played with last year says Stevens’ participation was discussed at committee level before being approved.

And while the vote passed in Stevens’ favour, it was not unanimous.

The Ex-Port Adelaide and Carlton player had his appeal against the Sunraysia league board’s decision to block him from playing with reigning premier Red Cliffs this season dismissed by an AFL Victoria area appeals committee last week.

Stevens, who was originally appointed the Tigers’ coach, is on bail awaiting an appeal after he was last year found guilty of multiple domestic abuse-related charges.

He was sentenced to jail but maintains his innocence.

Stevens last year played six matches at Hume league club Billabong Crows, where his brother Danny is senior coach.
