MPNFL NepeanWeekly Times | A PLAYER who suffered a neck injury in a Nepean Football League match on Saturday is reportedly “doing well”.

The match between Tyabb and Sorrento was abandoned in the third quarter when Tyabb’s Adrian Clay was taken to the Alfred Hospital after he injured his neck less than a minute into the third quarter of the senior match.

Club president Doug Taylor said Clay’s wife had posted on the club’s social page he was recovering and thanking everyone who had helped out.

Taylor said on Monday the player had expected to be discharged that day or yesterday, but he was still listed as being in a stable condition at the Alfred on Monday evening.

He said Clay had swelling and bruising and could wear a neck brace for 2-3 months but there was no major damage.

Taylor said the injury was caused by an accidental hit to the head from one of his teammates.
