portlandWeekly Times | IT’S one of the more bizarre scorelines you will see in a game of country football, particularly on a dry day.

Portland Football Club’s seniors kicked 1.21 (27) at the weekend in the Hampden Football League in its loss to the undefeated North Warrnambool Eagles, who scored 17.12 (114).

The game started badly for the Tigers, who booted 10 behinds and no majors in the first quarter alone, yet they led by two points at the first break.

But North Warrnambool Eagles flew away after that, with six unanswered goals in the second quarter and another four in the third quarter.

The Tigers peppered the goals with eight scoring shots in the same time frame — all behinds.

Daniel Falcone kicked Portland’s lone goal in the last quarter.
