gvflWeekly Times | GOULBURN Valley league sides Shepparton United and Echuca were lucky to get through their night match on Saturday at Shepparton’s Deakin Reserve.

The lights at the league’s premier venue went out, not once but twice during the course of the evening, including during the first half of the seniors’ match. The game was eventually restarted and United won by eight points to claim its third win of the season.

AFL Goulburn Murray league operations manager Simon Devine took to Twitter on Sunday morning to thank the two clubs for working through the issue.

Shepparton United’s Tim Looby, last year’s Vic Country No.1 captain, saw a perfect opportunity to take the mickey out of his coach, Marc Quarrell.
