tooraWeekly Times | REACHING 400 games at a club is an incredible feat for any footballer — and then there’s Toora’s Brad Stone.

The gutsy Magpie has overcome two bouts of testicular cancer on the way to reaching the milestone, which he ticked off on Saturday in the Alberton league’s reserves.

Stone said he had played about 250 club games when he was first diagnosed in 2006 when he was 28.

He returned to the reserves side after missing just four games and played out the season while receiving ongoing treatment.

The cancer returned at the beginning of 2014 but Stone was back on the field by Round 5.

Brad’s father, Neil, currently holds the games record at Toora with 513 matches.

While Brad conceded he probably would not reach his father’s record, the 38-year-old said he was still in good nick and enjoying his footy.

“My body is probably stronger than ever at the moment,” Brad said.

“I’m up and about, I’ve probably got a season or two left in me. I’ll get to 40 and take it from there”.

As icing on the cake, Stone was named best on ground for Toora in his milestone match.
