echucaWeekly Times |ECHUCA Football Club has requested an investigation into an incident involving star recruit Scott Beattie during its opening round loss to Rochester.

Rochester won by 56 points in an at-times fiery contest against its traditional rival on Saturday in the Goulburn Valley Football League.

Echuca has requested the league look into a first-quarter incident involving Beattie, who was left with a suspected broken nose and eye socket.

Beattie coached Echuca United to its first premiership in the Murray league in 2013.

Modewarre has also requested AFL Barwon examine two incidents from its loss to Torquay in the Bellarine league, including one that left Josh Finch, three-time league best-and-fairest winner, with a broken arm.
