Weekly Times | GIPPSLAND Football League club Morwell and the Geelong and District league’s Corio are the latest two sides to part company with their senior coaches.
Morwell coach Dean Warren got his marching orders last week after kicking off his tenure with losses to Wonthaggi Power and Sale.
Morwell got back to its winning ways on Anzac Day, with a 57-point victory over Moe under interim playing coach Joel Soutar.
Corio’s senior coach Barry O’Toole has also gone.
Corio president George Baker said O’Toole told the club last week he could no longer devote sufficient time to coaching because of work and family commitments.
Corio won two games last season under O’Toole.
He was reinstated as coach in October, after he was earlier sacked by then-president Gary Le Guern.
Baker said O’Toole would not have been the club’s senior coach in 2016.
Baker said assistant coach Brett Pollard would coach the winless side for the remainder of this season, and the club would try to attract a coach with AFL experience for next season.
