Weekly Times |ONE of the longest winning streaks in Victorian country football has come to an end.
Bridgewater, which has won the past five Loddon Valley league premierships, was defeated by Pyramid Hill on Saturday, 17.10 (112) to 15.9 (99).
The Mean Machine’s streak had stretched over 28 matches and it had not lost a game since Round 14, 2013 against Bears Lagoon-Serpentine, which it beat in the past two grand finals.
Bridgewater remains at the top of the Loddon Valley league ladder. The longest winning streak still belongs to Tungamah in the Picola and District league South East division.
The Bears have won 33 games straight, including a 192-point demolition of Dookie United on Saturday.
