The SS&A Ovens and Murray Football Netball League has launched an investigation following a request by the North Albury Football Netball Club into an incident involving Wangaratta player no. 11, Matt Kelly and North Albury player no. 6, Brian Durbidge during the round 12 senior match between Wangaratta and North Albury on June 29th 2013.

The League has appointed Kevin Mayhew as the investigation officer who will begin his work on Wednesday 3rd July 2013. Under the Worksafe AFL Victoria Country rules Kevin has 21 days to complete his investigation however there are parameters for a time extension should the investigation officer and League see fit.

Once the investigation has been completed a recommendation will be made as to whether a tribunal hearing is required.
