A first-quarter 15-5 lead saw Belmont set up its win. Corio's defenders put pressure on Belmont's goalers but Belmont was still able to work the ball around the circle to create better options for its shooters.

Belmont's mid-court was relentless, creating many turnovers and making the defenders' job just that little easier, with the goalers converting opportunities.

At halftime, Belmont made some changes and all players continued to work strongly without interruption.

Corio's goalers shot some beauties under pressure but Belmont continued to work plays to take the four points.

Best for Belmont was Jessica Millard in the mid-court, Karlie Woodcock in defence and Serah Scutchings in goals.

WERRIBEE CENTRALS 82 d GEELONG WEST 18

With Werribee Centrals undefeated and at the top of the ladder, Geelong West still went in strong and with heads high.

Centrals worked with intensity and maintained that pace all game.

The defence worked hard all game, applying pressure over every ball, creating turnovers and capitalising them to take the ball safely down the court and into attack. Centrals' attacking end found space and, with great placement of the ball, fed the the goaling combination of Wiki Wolfgram, Eleanor Tubbs and Ashlee Shacklock, who rotated the circle in readiness to finish off the feeds from centre and wing.

EAST GEELONG 56 d THOMSON 26

East played four consistent quarters to come away with a 30-goal win. Mel Bragg shot well for half the game then turned to defence for the remainder, working tirelessly to reduce Thomson's scoring attempts.

Thomson struggled to find its feet against a strong and experienced East team.

Rebekah Drake stepped up into a goal-shooting role this week, with excellent feeds into the circle.BELL

POST HILL 61 d INVERLEIGH 52

After an even start and in a physical game, Bell Post Hill was marginally in front thanks to some great intercepts by Elkana Foott.

The second quarter was similar to the first, going goal for goal with the Panthers just getting away again.

Jess Kelly and Mel Holmes teamed up well, sending great passes to Kim Martin under the ring.

Bell Post Hill led by 10 goals at the long break. Inverleigh won the third quarter with some solid play.

In the fourth, Alyssa Boardman intercepted well and Elise de Booy took many rebounds.

The Hill came away with a nine-goal win in perfect conditions. A competitive game from Inverleigh against a strong Bell Post Hill saw the Hawks combine well throughout the court.

Young shooter Katie Garner was best on court for Inverleigh, shooting 38 goals. Sarah Garner continued her consistent form in wing attack and Kath Mallon, back for the Hawks, played well in defence.

Bell Post Hill held on to a nine-goal win over the determined Hawks.

NORTH GEELONG 44 d ANAKIE 20

North's defence dominated all game, with Lauren Birch and Aimee Burgess playing at their best.

Anakie never looked like coming back, with North keeping its score down to 20 goals.

Anakie struggled the whole time to get the ball to its goalers, as North's tall strong defenders rebounded and took many intercepts.

For Anakie, Judy Hewat was creative in passing to the goalers from the wing attack position.

Caroline Roberts was able to take some strong rebounds from the few goals North's shooters missed. North's Brooke Young was exceptional in her accuracy.
