Leopold looked every bit the seasoned professionals, defeating a young and inexperienced St Joseph's 59-26 on Saturday.
Leopold coach Brooke Plowman was happy her girls didn't get complacent with attaining the four points, but aimed to win well and help their percentage.
"All girls took to their opponents well and followed the team structure and got the job done quite convincingly in the end," she said.
"At this stage we're still taking it week to week and just looking for this week's opponent before looking into next week's.
" Now we've got Colac at home, which is always going to be a tough match. Colac are a great club whether they're home or away, so just looking to next week and trying to consolidate our position on the ladder."
Plowman gave credit to the young St Joseph's side that was able to reduce its losing margin of 50 goals in Round 1.
"It was certainly a different Joey's team that stepped out than at the start of the season. Certainly the start of the game was a lot closer and to our girls' credit we started to knuckle down and take the bull by the horns," Plowman said.
"It wasn't an easy game. The scoreboard doesn't reflect the intensity that the Joey's girls had out there, so credit to them for trying to bridge the gap. They're a much better team than we met in Round 1."
Leopold's player-on-player style demonstrated once more that its success derives from having seven quality individuals.
Bree Walton was a standout in goals, Anna Simonsen was almost unstoppable in defence and Kaitlyn Amor made for a vital link through the centre court.
St Joseph's coach Kirsten Hood also valued the improvements in her side and gave credit to the mentoring relationships created by the two generations of players.
"Ultimately the girls did a great job against a top-three side," Hood said. "We're in the rebuilding stage and I was really impressed with our girls for predominantly the first three quarters."
Hood believes her girls can win against Grovedale next week.
"We definitely are looking for a win, so it should be a pretty close match and definitely we are going into it with a positive attitude, knowing that we're going to have to work hard, but hopefully we'll come away with the four points."
