ballflThe Courier |REDAN and Bacchus Marsh remain on the hunt for A-grade netball coaches three weeks out from the start of the Ballarat Football Netball League season.

The Lions have been forced into the search for a new leader following the resignation of Kate McMahon, who stepped down after four years in the job at the end of the 2014 campaign, while the Cobras are looking to replace long-time coach Frank Pawlowicz.

Redan netball director Sammy Prowse told The Courier the club's predicament was "definitely not a cry for help", with A-reserve coach Tanya Collier currently helping the senior side and willing to take on the role for 2015 if required.

"She's happy doing what she is doing at the moment to make it all work, with couple of senior girls. It's a bit of a team effort," Prowse said.

"It would be ideal (to get a full-time coach), but knowing where we are at in terms of the season, it's probably unlikely."

Prowse said the group was capable of coaching themselves, with the help of experienced players such as Emma Henry, Ruby Parry, Hollie Frew and Hayley Munro.

She said McMahon, who led the club to its first ever A-grade premiership in 2011, had been helpful in the search for her successor.

Bacchus Marsh goaler Susan Dalmau is currently serving as interim coach of the A-grade side, but Cobras joint netball co-ordinator Lauren Barker admitted the club was still on the lookout for a full-time replacement for Pawlowicz.

"(The season) is not very far away, but we have tried a lot of different avenues and failed at every corner unfortunately. If something comes up then obviously we would probably jump at it," Barker said.

Barker said the club could manage if a senior coach didn't become available before the season-opener on April 18.

"We're struggling in terms of numbers. We have got enough players to field the three lower sides, but we don't have the talent that we need for A-grade. A-grade is a pretty good standard in the Ballarat league," she said.

Interested players and coaches can contact Prowse on 0478 001 672 or Barker on 0408 556 290 for more information.
