WEDDERBURN’S 17-game winning streak was brought to a crashing halt by St Arnaud in the North Central league yesterday.
The Saints, third on the ladder, led at every change in the Round 11 clash on their home turf at Lord Nelson Park to claim a 9.13 (67) to 7.10 (52) win.
Before yesterday, the Redbacks had won their eight matches this season by an average of 16 goals.
When the two teams met in Round 4, the Redbacks crushed St Arnaud by 176 points.
RUSHWORTH has snapped its eight-game losing streak with a 45-point triumph over Tallygaroopna.
The Tigers only managed three goals after the main break but had set up victory with nine goals to one in the first half of the Round 12 Kyabram District league match.
Jason Hucker and Scott Hamilton booted three goals each in the Tigers’ 12.7 (79) to 5.4 (34) win, while Jak McMillan was best afield.

The Swans pegged the margin back to two goals at half time, and neither team posted a major score in an end-to-end third term.
But two goals to Josh Mellington in the last quarter helped seal Benalla’s 12.14 (86) to 8.5 (53) win.
Mellington and teammate Alistair Jacka each finished with three for the day.
TERANG-Mortlake has squared the ledger against North Warrnambool Eagles after a nailbiting five-point victory yesterday.
The Bloods booted a goal — just their third of the day — in the final minute to win their Round 11 clash in the Hampden league 3.9 (27) to 3.4 (22).
The Eagles defeated the Bloods by three points in another cliffhanger in Round 2.
Steve Staunton kicked a goal and was named best afield for the Bloods in yesterday’s win, which elevated the club from ninth to sixth on the 10-team ladder.
