VFL footballer "Fabulous" Phil Carman has taken the reins at East Gambier in the Western Border Football League. Carman, 62, who played 100 VFL games from 1975-82, put pen to paper at the Bulldogs late last year.
"He came to our club as a guest speaker three years ago, and after we ran an ad in the regional papers he contacted the club and we wasted no time in signing him," East Gambier president James Kitschke said.Carman has since moved with his wife to Mount Gambier and relocated his landscape gardening business from Bendigo.
