Bellarine FNLGeelong Times | Portarlington’s dream run in their first A-grade finals campaign in a decade will continue into next weekend’s preliminary final.

The Demons proved too strong for Torquay in front of a vocal home crowd in their 50-48 win at Portarlington Recreation Reserve.

The two-goal win marks the start of a pattern of tight finals games for the side, with each team taking the lead throughout the game.

Torquay looked dangerous in the first half, Daisy O’Kane was shooting with near-perfect accuracy alongside Samoan international Ari Luamanu in the shooting circle.

Bridgette Witham alongside Sophie Ritchie-Crichton was gallant in defence.

However, Portarlington turned the home support to their advantage in the third quarter, scoring five consecutive goals to start the 15-goal term to build a five-goal lead ahead of the last period of play.
